Use information carefully

Ingredient Information

CleanCartList helps shoppers compare product labels with the ingredient preferences they choose for their household.

Effective September 15, 2026

Preference matching, not a universal health score

A CleanCartList match means that the available product information did not identify an ingredient selected by that household profile. A flag means that a selected ingredient or related label phrase was identified. Neither result declares that a product is healthy, unhealthy, safe or unsafe for everyone.

Folic acid

Folic acid is a synthetic, manufactured form of folate commonly added to fortified and enriched foods. Some health-conscious shoppers choose to limit or avoid it as part of their personal clean-label preferences. CleanCartList treats that choice as a user-selected preference.

Labels and formulations change

Manufacturers may change ingredients, facilities, warnings or package information without notifying CleanCartList. Database information can be missing, delayed or incorrect. Always read the package in your hand.

Allergies and cross-contact

CleanCartList is not a substitute for allergen labeling, manufacturer confirmation or guidance from a qualified healthcare professional. Do not rely solely on a CleanCartList result when an exposure could cause a serious reaction. Cross-contact and facility information may be incomplete.

Medical and dietary decisions

CleanCartList does not diagnose, treat or prevent medical conditions and does not provide individualized medical advice. Ask an appropriate healthcare professional about pregnancy, medications, nutritional deficiencies, allergies or medically necessary diets.

Corrections

If the package label differs from a CleanCartList record, stop relying on that record and report the discrepancy to support. Include the product name, UPC and clear photographs when possible.
